Free Advice

So...I reach for a kleenex for like the 10 thousandth time this winter. I tell Wyatt, "Mommy is really tired of being sick." He says, "I think you need to rest. That would help." He's quiet a few minutes. Then he adds, "maybe you should go to the doctor."

A Lesson in Aging

So...when I pick up the boys from the grandparents I notice my dad has a band aid on his ear, but I don't really think anything about it. On the car ride home I ask Wyatt, "What did you do at GG and Pa's house today?" He begins with, "Pa has a band aid on his ear. Pa went to the doctor to take spot off." I said, "Ok, did he say if it hurt?" Wyatt responds, "No, he says it's part of getting old."

And the winner is...

So...it appears the most popular present of Christmas 2010...the Woody and Buzz cowboy boots. Wyatt has kept them at the foot of his bed every night. He insisted on wearing them to church and the gym yesterday, "so the other kids can see them." When they got wet in the snow, "Mommy, I need a rag to wipe my boots." And this morning, I come home from work to find him in his dog jammies accented by the Woody boots.

A Lesson in Budgeting

So Wyatt was given a good bit of spending money for Christmas. We took out $20 at the ATM. He insisted on carrying the cash in his pocket. After very careful selection, Mack, the tractor trailer who hauls Lightning McQueen goes in the cart. Wyatt paid, accepted his change, opened the package in the car, and hasn't put the truck down since.

Chicken Little

So Wyatt is sitting at the breakfast table. He looks at me and says, "I love you Mommy." He pauses half a beat and says, "Cock a doodle doo!"

Let it Snow

So...Wyatt is obsessed with playing CD's on his radio. I ask him, "What do you want to listen to, Christmas music?" He says, "No, it's not time yet." I say, "But it's the week before Christmas." He says, "Not until it snows."

The Bare Naked Truth

So...during the coldest week of the year Wyatt has decided he must go barefoot all the time. I asked him, "Don't you like socks and shoes?" He said, "No, I just like feet."
I think we could all use a trip to the beach.

Wish List

So...Wyatt had his first successful Santa visit. He listed several things he wanted for Christmas, including a pillow pet and a blue dump truck. Sadly, this occurred a day AFTER "Santa" had done all his shopping online and had ordered items requested from an apparently out of date list. Yikes.
