The Cookie Monster

So Grandma Meg sent the boys some cookies from Strossner's. As usual, the frog frosting was the most intriguing part. When I asked Wyatt if he wanted to eat one, he said, "Yes, this is a really exciting cookie."

Handy Man

So Wyatt says, "Mommy, can we go to Home Depot or Lowe's and look at hammers?" Mission accomplished. Boy in heaven.

A Little Cuckoo

So we're on our way to church and Colt keeps babbling, "Cuckoo, cuckoo." I say to Wyatt, "Do you think your little brother turned into a bird." "No," he says. "Then why does he keep saying cuckoo," I ask. Wyatt says, "Maybe because he has a feather on his hat." Good point.

A View to a Room

So Wyatt and I are in the new baby's room. Wy says, "I think baby is going to like his room." He pauses, then continues, "You should put a window in your tummy so he can see it."

Binky thief!

So Colt and I are looking at all of our snow pictures on my computer. He still does not recognize himself in photos. He sees Wyatt and a "baby" playing in the yard. After seeing one of the pictures he leaps to his feet and starts pointing at the screen yelling, "My bee, my bee, my bee. Baby, my bee." Apparently that baby stole his bee. He wouldn't stop screaming until Wy and I produced the actual paci. Crisis averted.

Colt's Toddlerism

So...the lil one speaks. It's time for his first appearance in Toddlerisms. At bath time we are draining the tub. He sits staring at the drain for at least five minutes, repeating non-stop, "Bye bye bubbles, bye bye bubbles." When the tub was empty he looked at it longingly and said, "Bubbles bye bye."

Would you like butter with that?

So the snow storm has moved passed the blizzard phase and is in the sleet stage. I agree to take Wyatt outside. He looks up to the sky and is bombarded with little ice pellets. He beems and says, "Look Mommy, popcorn snow."

Snow angel or no angel?

So at the height of the winter storm Wyatt suggests we go outside and make snow angels. I reluctantly concur. He briefly flirts with the idea of laying in the snow, then gets up and informs me, "Mommy, I don't know how to do it. You need to show me." I stand next to him and explain that he needs to flap his arms and legs. He says, "No, you need to show me." So 8 months pregnant I lay in the snow and make my wings. "Your turn, I say." He looks at me covered in snow and responds, "No thanks. I'm going inside."

A Lesson in Anatomy

So Wyatt is in Joe's office looking through our Christmas cards. He asks Joe, "Why do you like that snowman?" Joe says, "Because my friend Gentry made it." Wyatt replies, "Did he use a carrot for the nose?" "Yes, he did," Joe says. Wyatt ponders this and then says, "He should have used it for a penis."

For here or to go?

So...a few nights ago Wyatt was naughty at supper. He was sent upstairs before he finished his dinner. I went to check on him after the meal. He's sitting in his time out spot. He looks up at me and says, "Mommy, I'd like to order some more food."

Little Dude

So...the baby was really kicking hard in my stomach while Wyatt sat next to me on the couch. I told him, "Your little brother is really wild today." Wyatt says," Maybe he's going to come out today." I said, "I hope not, he has some more growing to do." Wyatt nods, "He's still a little dude."
