The Hamptons Get a Haircut

So Zane is one and ready for his first haircut.

Big brothers came along and insisted on getting a trim.

I think they all look pretty handsome.

Demolition Man

So Wyatt and Colt helped me decorate the dining room for Zane's birthday party.

We put up streamers and balloons and colored pictures to put on the walls.

It looked awesome.

The second the guests were gone I found Wyatt on the dining room table with a pair of scissors.

He was slicing through the streamers and ribbons at the speed of light.

"What are you doing?" I ask.

"The party is over," he says. "I'm destroying it."

One Year Later...

So I say to Wyatt, "Can you believe that Zaney has been living with us for a whole year now?"

He looks very serious and says, "He can stay here, can't he?"

Of course.

Chim Chim Cher-E

So I happen to look out in the back yard...and lo and behold "Bert" from "Mary Poppins" has appeared on the playhouse roof.

Except the chimney sweep is small and blond.

And I don't hear Chim Chim Chimney, Chim Chim Cher-E in the background.

Brush Off

So Wyatt comes home from school thrilled about his science project. They made toothpaste.

I tell him he needs to wait until bedtime to try it out.

So before bath he grabs his toothbrush, dips it into the bag and begins to scrub with vigor.

After about five seconds he starts screaming and spitting and making scrunched up faces. "Too salty," he yells, "too spicy!"

I hope this hasn't discouraged his love of science.

Flying High

More from the "I'm a big kid now" file....Thank goodness Uncle Jim got us a plane that is a three seater!

The Cart Runneth Over

So Zane can now ride in the big kid part of the shopping cart. He's excited about it, if you can't tell. :)

Valentine Surprise

You can go to work, run to the grocery store, buy party supplies and decorate the kitchen all before the kids wake up!


The menu: glazed donuts with pink frosting and heart sprinkles, strawberries and big glasses of strawberry milk!

Fear the Swiffer

All of a sudden waking Mom up early on a Saturday morning didn't seem like such a good idea....

Going Bananas

If I had one more person at the grocery store ask me, "Need help finding the bananas?"...

I guess that's what I get for taking a monkey to Publix.

I report. Wyatt decides.

So Wyatt turns on the TV and it's on a news channel and not the cartoon network.

Colt seems confused.

Wyatt explains the situation to him. "This is a grown up show. Mommy's and Daddy's watch the news because they want to know what crashed."

He has no idea the profound commentary he just made on his mother's profession.
