Never mind that they all having snotty noses, hacking coughs and watery eyes...
All Wyatt is worried about is the wart that has developed on his middle finger.
"How did it get there?" he wants to know. "Can the doctor make it go away?"
"Sure, we'll ask the doctor," I say. "After he helps us with our colds."
While we wait in the exam room, we practice the wart conversation and how Wyatt will use big kid words to explain the problem.
But when the doctor walks in Wyatt chooses non-verbal communication, instead simply holding up the warted finger.
It caught the doctor off guard.
Red faced I say, "He has a wart he'd like you to look at."
So much for all the practice
